Sometimes you are aware of the debt, most of the time you have no idea and it takes you by surprise. A very unpleasant surprise. That’s why today we want to tell you how you can find out if you are in a debt collection file.

What is a debt collection file?

When we refer to a file or list of defaulters we are talking about a record where the data of people who have incurred in a default. At present this file is used as a method of pressure to be able to collect the debts, previous judicial claim. In these cases it implies that for example a bank will not grant you a credit, a dealer will not finance the purchase of a car or a telephone company will not allow you to buy a cell phone and pay it in installments.

How many default files are there?

There are several default files that companies consult:

  • The Asnef file
  • The Badexcug file
  • The RAI file (Register of unpaid acceptances).

How can you know that you are in a debt collection file?

This is a matter of great concern since it can be detrimental in many aspects to the person who is in the file of defaulters. Therefore, to find out if you are in a debt collection file, you must send a letter to the corresponding file, in order to exercise your right of access. To do this you can send an email or a letter where we will attach a signed letter with our name and ID card indicating that we exercise the right of access, providing a copy of the ID card.
